How to reset your Lumia?

Posted by Unknown at 7:00 am 0 Comments
Windows Phone Users usually reset their phone using the hardware button / by going to the About section in the settings menu. But both of these require several steps to be followed.

But this new way just asks you to enter a number in the Dialer to reset your phone.

To reset you just NEED TO type this in the Dialer : ##777#

As soon as you enter the number, a pop up will appear asking you to either reset/cancel.

This way of reset won't delete your Downloaded Maps or the Network Settings. So, this is actually a type of Factory Reset which would change the settings back to as they were when the phone was first booted. And again I would say, that it won't delete the Maps Data or affect network settings.
And, yes this trick doesn’t work in the Emergency Call Dialer.

Thanks for Reading..

Microsoft Lumia 950, 950 XL in India

Posted by Unknown at 2:08 pm 0 Comments
Microsoft's new flagship smartphones promise the same productivity as a Windows 10 computer but in a form factor small enough to fit in a pocket.

New Delhi: Microsoft is all set to launch its recently announced Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL Windows 10 smartphones in India in the month of November. According to our source with information of the India launch plans, the company is planning to bring the Lumia 950 smartphone to India at a price of Rs 38,000, while the Lumia 950 XL will be carrying a price tag of Rs 43,000, approximately.

While the phones will be launched in November, there is still no information about the exact launch date. The India launch of the new Lumia Windows 10 phones is expected to be in sync with the global rollout.
Microsoft's new flagship smartphones promise the same productivity as a Windows 10 computer but in a form factor small enough to fit in a pocket. The lines blur with Microsoft's new Lumia 950 phones. With an optional dock, you can attack a regular monitor, keyboard and mouse and work with apps on the phone just like you would on a Windows 10 desktop.

The Lumia 950 includes a 5.2-inch display and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor with hexacore CPUs. The Lumia 950 XL, on the other hand, has a 5.7-inch display and a Snapdragon 810 processor with octa-core CPUs.

This clever productivity trick is thanks to Continuum, the name Microsoft is giving to its digital continuity system that means a file created on a Windows-powered computer is accessible on the Xbox and can be edited on a smartphone and then recreated on a Surface Pro.

If that were the extent of the latest Lumia's tricks, it could be enough for a business user to get excited, but the new flagship handsets are also packed with so many well-considered features that it's possible that Microsoft's handset may also tempt an Android user into a new ecosystem.

The Lumia 950 and 950 XL have 20-megapixel cameras with optical image stabilisation - so no blurs - and a triple flash to ensure that pictures shot at night look real and that no one's got red eye.

The 950 and 950 XL handsets have up to 32GB of storage, 4K video and use liquid cooling technology. Microsoft said storage on the phones could be extended to up to 2 terabytes using a memory card.

Both the top-of-the-line Lumia phones can also be unlocked via facial recognition, and can charge to over 50 per cent of battery power in less than 30 minutes thanks to USB Type C connectors.

Even the dual antenna system is designed to automatically understand how the handset is positioned, or how it's being held in order to ensure the best possible connection at any given moment.

The new Lumia 950 phones also come with Windows Hello, an automatic biometric sign-in option introduced earlier this year. The feature allows users to scan their face, iris or fingerprints to verify their identity and give them access to Windows phones, laptops and personal computers.

Windows 10 - Latest News

Posted by Unknown at 3:47 pm 0 Comments
Not everyone will be able to upgrade to Windows 10 on 29 July, with Microsoft confirming it will roll out the operating system in waves.
The first to get the finished version of the product will be the five million Windows 10 Insiders currently using the operating system in preview.

Following that, Redmond will begin notifying the millions who have reserved Windows 10 upgrades.
Terry Myerson, Microsoft’s executive VP of operating systems, wrote in ablog post yesterday: “Starting on July 29, we will start rolling out Windows 10 to our Windows Insiders.
“From there, we will start notifying reserved systems in waves, slowly scaling up after July 29th. Each day of the roll-out, we will listen, learn and update the experience for all Windows 10 users.
“If you reserved your copy of Windows 10, we will notify you once our compatibility work confirms you will have a great experience, and Windows 10 has been downloaded on your system.”
It’s not clear how long this scale-up process will take, with Myerson keeping quiet on timescales. Nor was it mentioned how quickly all Insiders will get 10 installed.
OEM partners will receive a build of Windows 10 to image new devices with, and another build will go to retailers to upgrade unsold devices currently running Windows 8.1.

Posted by Unknown at 1:39 pm 0 Comments
Extreme Copy:
ExtremeCopy is a utility which copy and move files extremely fast, it will auto optimize speed and resource base on target physical machine,so it will as fast as possible, especially copy big files, it can increase 20% - 120% speed up than Windows copy handle.

Features:

·        Fast file copy operations
·        Destination files verified
·        Seamless integration with Windows Explorer
·        Pause and resume file copy operations
·        Free software for home users

Fast Copy
FastCopy is a freeware alternative to the Windows-based copy feature, promising faster speeds.
The program is actually pretty simple and presents itself with a list of different options while transferring a file. It isn't exactly the easiest way to go about file transfer, but certainly a viable alternative.
FastCopy's basic features are overshadowed by the cluttered user interface. It is definitely easy-to-use, but required knowledge and know-how. For those used to it though, it isn't such a drawback. Copying files with a different timestamp or size are probably some of the biggest pluses.

SuperCopier
Since Windows doesn't always copy files in the fastest manner, supplementary programs like SuperCopier have become popular.
SuperCopier offers improved copying speeds within Windows. It acts as a replacement to the Windows Explorer copy dialog and is able to speed up the file and folder copy function impressively.
In order to use SuperCopier, just right click on a file or folder, copy it and then paste it in the destination -- just as you would normally do in Windows.

FF Copy
FF Copy is a tool that allows you to queue up file copy operations in Windows. Copy operations can be paused, stopped and resumed and will auto-resume in case of temporarily unavailable source/target.

TeraCopy
TeraCopy is a compact program designed to copy and move files at the maximum possible speed, providing the user a lot of features:

  • TeraCopy uses dynamically adjusted buffers to reduce seek times. Asynchronous copy speeds up file transfer between two physical hard drives.
  • Pause and resume file transfers. Pause copy process at any time to free up system resources and continue with a single click.
  • Error recovery. In case of copy error, TeraCopy will try several times and in the worse case just skips the file, not terminating the entire transfer.
  • Interactive file list. TeraCopy shows failed file transfers and lets you fix the problem and recopy only problem files.
  • Shell integration. TeraCopy can completely replace Explorer copy and move functions, allowing you work with files as usual.
  • Full Unicode support.

Copy Handler
Copy Handler is an app which allows you customize the file copy and move functions on your system. The app is highly customizable and fully integrates with the Windows OS. Copy Handler provides many advanced options like task queuing; filtering files according to specific criteria; pausing and resuming copying files operations and changing the copying parameters on the fly. With Copy Handler the speed of your copy and transfer process is also increased.

Key Features Include:
  • Full-control over the copying or moving process by pause, resume, restart and cancel features.
  • Copy files faster than standard Windows copying.
  • Over 60 detailed options.
  • Automatically resume all unfinished operations on system start.
  • System integration provides additional commands to context menus of folders.
  • Multiple language support.

How to delete your iTunes account
There is no direct link for deletion. It is often smart to deactivate (disable) your iTunes account, since it's linked to the possibility to use the items you once purchased (due to DRM. See also http://www.iskysoft.com/article/remove-drm-protection-from-itunes.html).
It is possible to delete (cancel) your account, too. For this, contact Apple (mail or telephone) and request deletion. Use this link:
http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/
You will be guided through something called 'Express Lane'. Since the options change on a regular basis, choose the options that suit your request best. At the end of the line you will be able to fill out the contact form and request removal. At this point you are asked (as was told to us) that you need to make a phone call. Ask for the Account Security Team and explain your request. In the end however, it remains unclear to us whether your account will really be deleted. Beforehand, you could log in and change/anonimise your personal data.
